WEST BOYLSTON-Joseph P. Orciani, Sr., 85, passed away Tuesday, January 6 surrounded by his loving family.

He leaves his wife of 60 years, Helen A. (Higgins) Orciani; three beloved children, Donna M. and her husband, Robert Robertson of Leicester, Judith A. and her husband, Philip Beshire of Charlton and Joseph P. Orciani, Jr. of West Boylston whose wife, Brenda predeceased him in 1997; six grandchildren, Alan and Brian Robertson, Melissa and Michelle Beshire and Gina and Patrick Orciani; one great grandson, Connor Joseph Robertson and many nieces and nephews. His five brothers and sisters, Premo J. Orciani, Mary McCool, Louis Orciani, Henry Orciani and Joan L. Naylor all predeceased him.

He was born in West Boylston the son of Adimero and Anna (Pompili) Orciani and graduated from Boy's Trade School. Mr. Orciani was a WW II veteran serving with the Army Corp of Engineers, 86th Blackhawk Division, where he served in the Philippines and European Theater. After the War, he worked as a pipefitter and welder at J.G. Lamotte for many years before retiring.

He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, the Worcester Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union %234, American Legion Post %23204, V.F.W in West Boylston, and the West Boylston golf and bowling leagues and the American Legion Pitch League. Mr. Orciani coached the West Boylston Little League for many years. Mr. Orciani was a handyman who loved to restore antique farm equipment.

The funeral will be Saturday, January 10 from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 W. Boylston St. with a Mass at 10:00 AM at Our lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St. Interment will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday, January 9 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
