Joseph M. Petty 46, of 357 Mower St. and York Beach, ME died Saturday, Jan. 10, at home.

He leaves his wife of 23 years, M. Karen (Kelley) Petty; loving father of, two sons, LCPL Joseph J. Petty, USMC, of Washington, DC and Matthew R. Petty of Worcester; two daughters, Kelley A. Petty and Katelyn M. Petty both of Worcester; his parents, Joseph J. and Jean H. (Fleming) Petty of Worcester; his twin brother, Francis P. Petty, retired Worcester Firefighter of Worcester; four sisters, Kathleen Peloquin and Joanne Petty-McGinn both of Spencer, Nancy Petty and Joyce McTigue both of Worcester; nephews and nieces; grand nephews and nieces; aunts and uncles; and cousins. He was born in Worcester and graduated from South High School, Curry College and received his master's degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Western New England College.

He has been a Worcester Police Officer for the past 21 years, assigned to the Juvenile Division.

He was a member of the Local %23378, International Brotherhood of Police Officers, Massachusetts Police Association, Worcester Police Relief Association, Worcester Police Emerald Club, and the Worcester Police Fight for Life Foundation.

A Funeral will be held Tuesday, Jan., 13 from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 9 Hammond St. with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, 931 Main St. Burial will be in Saint John's Cemetery. Calling Hours are Monday, Jan. 12, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Worcester Police Fight For Life Foundation, 911 Lincoln Sq.
