WORCESTER-Joseph Alan Raulinaitis, known to many as Joe, passed away peacefully March 14, 2026, at the age of 76.
Born in Worcester on August 4, 1949, Joe lived a rich life with diverse experiences. After Joe graduated in 1968 from Shrewsbury High School he studied journalism at the University of Wisconsin in Oshkosh. He served his country and had numerous tours overseas, retiring as a Major. He also worked for the FDA in Public Affairs and was on television and headed talks educating people on the organization.
Outside of his professional and military service, Joe was a published author, cross country runner, an avid reader, history buff, and fencer.
He enjoyed and cared for animals, especially cats. These interests were a meaningful expression of who he was and brought texture and depth to the life he lived. He will be remembered for the many ways he filled his days with purpose and personal passions.
Joe is survived and is remembered with love by his sister, Susan Biliouris and her husband William; his nieces Emily Bilouris and her husband, Dr. Henry Wu and Kelsey Taylor and her husband Daniel. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Viola, and his brother David. He had close friends who will miss him greatly, especially Shelly Kosar.
A private gathering with family and friends will be held later in the summer.
In Joe’s memory, donations may be made to Westside Animal Clinic, 262 Mill St., Worcester, MA 01602 or the Worcester Fencing Club, 243 Stafford St #4, Worcester, MA 01603.
