West Boylston
Joseph D. Woods 76, of 135 Sterling St., died Tuesday, Sept. 9, in Saint Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center, after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 56 years, Irene V. (Drosier) Woods; four children, Russell A. Woods of West Boylston, Deborah A. Hunt of Worcester, Donna M. Ryan of Worcester, and David J. Woods of Shrewsbury; a brother, Wilfred Woods of Port Charlotte, FL; two sisters, Lorraine LaBrie of Yarmouth Port and Barbara Soucey of Silver Springs, FL; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nephews and nieces. He was born in Boston, son of Russell and Irene (Tessier) Woods. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII. He worked for Service Station Maintenance for 15 years and then for Komtek for many years, until retiring. He was the past treasurer of the 611 Social Club, member of the Local %232936 Steelworkers of America and the Holden Hills Country Club. He loved boating and golfing.
A Funeral will be held Saturday, Sept. 13 from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME 1 West Boylston St. with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 25 Fales St. Worcester. Calling Hours are Friday, Sept. 12 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
