WORCESTER-Josephine (Venskus) Ambrose, 94, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2015 at Christopher House of Worcester. Josephine's husband of 53 years, Benny G. Ambrose passed away in 1997. She leaves her son, Robert A. Ambrose and his wife, Mary of West Boylston; five grandchildren, Christine O'Brien, Christopher Lawrence, Tony Lawrence, Kellie Ambrose and Melissa Ambrose-Dooley; eight great grandchildren, her son-in-law, David Lawrence of Parker, CO and her beloved friend Frances Kuchinsky of Grafton. She was predeceased by her daughter, Joanne Lawrence.

Josephine was born in Worcester and graduated from Commerce High School. She worked as a saleswoman at the former Lerner Stores in Worcester for many years before retiring. She was a former lifelong member of St. Casmir Church, Lithuanian Women's Club, Maronis Park, Knights of Lithuania %2326 and the former Lithuanian War Veterans Auxiliary. She loved all animals, especially dogs, and enjoyed cooking Lithuanian food. Josephine was an avid sports fan and regularly followed the Red Sox and Patriots. She enjoyed crocheting, doing puzzles and most of all, spending quality time with her family and friends.

The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of Christopher Heights and Christopher House for their kindness and care of Josephine during her stay there.

Family and friends are invited for a visiting time on Friday, February 6th from 10:00 to 11:00 am at FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 W. Boylston St., West Boylston followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St., West Boylston. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that specializes programs, services and events for wounded veterans of the military (www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate or 855.448.3997).
