Josephine U. "Peanut" (Belacki) Bonci, 89, of West Boylston passed away Saturday, April 3 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home. Her husband of 58 years, E. Arthur Bonci died in 2004. She is survived by her daughter, Jane E. Maddalena, wife of James A. Maddalena of West Boylston; her three grandchildren, Craig A. Maddalena and his wife Tammy of Hopedale, Paul M. Maddalena of Worcester and Kristin L. DeMarco and her husband Paul of Salem, NH; her four great-grandchildren, Jacob and Taylor Maddalena of Hopedale and Emma and Ryan DeMarco of Salem, NH; and many nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Emma Moisio and Lena J. McGrath and two brothers, Naldo L. Belacki and Albert Belacki predeceased her. She was born in West Boylston, daughter of Nazareno and Elizabeth (Bevelaqua) Belacki and graduated from Major Edwards High School.
Peanut co-owned and operated the former Center Wood Casuals, she also worked at Heald Machine Company.
She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and its Women's Club and the West Boylston Woman's Club.
A Funeral will be held Thursday, April 8, from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston St. with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Calling Hours are Wednesday, April 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St., West Boylston, 01583 or VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas St. Worcester, 01608.
