Joyce M. Angell, 68, of North Grosvenordale, Connecticut, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, she was the beloved daughter of the late Cecile (Jodoin) and John Angell.
Joyce is survived by her devoted sons, Gary Joiner and Robert Joiner and his wife Bridget, all of North Grosvenordale, CT. She was a cherished grandmother to Katie and Tommy, who brought her great joy.
She also leaves behind her loving siblings: John Angell and his wife Jeanne of Webster, MA; Linda O’Connell of Gardner, MA; Virginia St. Michel and her husband Richard of Grafton, MA; Jean Leblanc and her husband Alex of North Grosvenordale, CT; Carol Leblanc and her husband Roy of Millbury, MA; Nancy Tetreault and her husband Jaime of Warren, MA; and David Angell of Millbury, MA. Joyce is also fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, as well as grandnieces and grandnephews.
Joyce grew up in Grafton, MA, on Ray Street, where she shared a lively home with her parents, siblings, aunt, uncle, and cousins. She was a proud graduate of Grafton High School, Class of 1975. In her youth, she enjoyed playing softball, camping and skiing.
While Joyce held a variety of jobs throughout her life, her compassion truly shone through during her many years working as a caretaker for older individuals. She brought comfort, patience, and dignity to those in her care, and her kindness left a lasting impression on the families she supported.
Joyce will be remembered for her warmth, her love of family gatherings, and her sense of fun. She especially enjoyed trips to the local casino, where she was an enthusiastic poker player. Known as a great friend who was always willing to help others, Joyce had a generous spirit and a kind heart. Her laughter, companionship, and ability to find joy in life’s simple pleasures left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Family and friends are welcomed to a celebration of her Joyce's with visiting hours Saturday, August 2nd from 12:00-2:00pm at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester. A funeral service will begin at 2:00pm in the funeral home. Burial will be private for the family.
