Joyce C. Nanigian

SPENCER – Joyce Carol (Patenaude) Nanigian, 78, formerly of Paxton died peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. Joyce, or JC as her family often referred to her as, was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late George and Mary (Smith) Patenaude.
Joyce and her beloved husband, George H. Nanigian were married in Worcester on January 30th, 1960. Together they enjoyed 55 years of marriage before George passed on July 12, 2015. She will be lovingly missed by her daughter, Lynn-Anne Handleman and her husband, David of Newport, RI and her son, Joey Nanigian and his wife, Marissa of Spencer; her sister, Beverly Fournier of Worcester; her grandchildren, Zachary Handleman of Lakeland, FL, Tyler Nanigian, Aydan Nanigian and Mikayla Moorcroft, all of Spencer; her nieces Debra Dunn and Sharon Setaro; her great nieces and nephews, Sara Johnson, Michael and Steven Setaro, Sylvester Baines, Justin Baines, Sara Baines and Chelsea Jordan. She was predeceased by her siblings, Raymond, Shirley and George.
Joyce loved to entertain people and was a wonderful instructor in both dinner theater and roller skating. She enjoyed playing cribbage with her friends. She was an accomplished singer, never gave up the challenge of a good crossword puzzle and enjoyed watching classic movies and game shows. She adored her children and grandchildren and cherished her time with them. She will be forever remembered as a gracious gentle soul.
At her request, services will be privately held at a later date.
