Judith Ann (Garceau) Bolivar, 63, passed away unexpectedly on April 4, at the New England Home for the Deaf in Danvers, where she lived since 1996. Judy was born in Worcester on August 13, 1945, daughter of the late Wilfred G. and Viola (LaChapelle) Garceau. Judy attended the Boston School for the Deaf. Her husband, Kenneth M. Bolivar, died in 1972.
Judy lived in Worcester until December, 1989, when as a result of an automobile accident, she became blind. She lived at the Greenery Rehabilitation Center in Brighton until 1996, and then moved to the New England Home for the Deaf in Danvers. Judy was well-loved by the staff at NEHD for her sense of humor and her indomitable spirit. She loved hamburgers, French fries, coffee, ice cream sundaes, and shopping, especially for pocket books and earrings.
She leaves several cousins, including Emma Leona Riel and Beverly Turner, and many friends, including Cynthia O'Brien and Roger Brunelle.
A Funeral Mass will be held Sat. May 9, at 10 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant St., Worcester. A private graveside service will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to, the New England Home for the Deaf, 154 Water St., Danvers, 01923-3794.
