Julie A. Harris, 50, of 87 Maple St. died Saturday, Feb. 11, in UMASS Medical Center.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of Mary J. (Nicholson) Harris and the late John L. Harris of West Boylston (Oakdale) Ma.
Julie is survived by; two sisters, Janet M. Harris of Frankfort, KY and Christine Ripley of Oakdale and five brothers, David P. Harris of Worcester, James G. Harris of Ivoryton, CT, John J. Harris of Merrimack, NH, Thomas Harris of New York City, NY and Sean Fitzgerald of Manchester, NH and a longtime special friend, Richard Astukewicz, Jr. of Worcester.
Julie graduated from West Boylston High School and was employed at Stop and Shop Supermarket for many years. Her interests included family genealogy, concerts, photography. She also enjoyed vacationing in Newport, RI. and Moody Beach, Maine. She found great joy in making people laugh and helping her neighbors. Even with her death she still found a way to give and help other people by donating her organs to the New England Organ Bank.
A memorial mass will be held Saturday, Feb. 25, at 11 a.m. In Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to, Mass General Hospital Aneurysm Center c/o Dr. Ogilvy, 55 Fruit St., Boston, MA 02114-2698 or West Boylston Fire and Ambulance Fund, 39 Worcester St. W. Boylston 01583.
