WORCESTER-June T. (Curran) Beam, 78, passed away Friday, January 26 in UMASS Medical Center.
She leaves her husband of 55 years, Leslie P. Beam, Sr.; three sons, Leslie P. Beam, Jr. of Worcester, Shawn M. Beam and his wife, Christine of Dudley and Matthew J. Beam and his fiancé, Angela of Worcester; a brother, Michael J. Curran, his wife, Amy and their two children Nathan and Megan of Millbury; her step-mother, Elizabeth Curran of Webster; two half-siblings, Chris Curran of Thompson, CT and Jillian Curran of Worcester; two grandchildren, Tyler and Alexis Beam of Dudley; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Curran of Shrewsbury and nieces and nephews. A brother, John W. Curran, Jr. predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of John Curran Sr and June (Hedlund) Curran.
June was a teacher’s aide for many years for the Worcester Public School System, spending much of her career working at Worcester East Middle School. June loved hosting family gathers and sitting by the pool. She had a green thumb for gardening and especially enjoyed Sunflowers. She loved crocheting, a trip to the beach with family, traveling especially on cruises and an occasional visit to the Casino. June also enjoyed bowling in her early years and going to events at the Auburn Sportsmen’s Club.
Visiting Hours are Thursday, February 1 from 4 to 7pm at Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, February 2, at 10am in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton St. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery.
