It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Karen L. Collins of Holiday, Florida. Karen passed away on March 1, 2022, at the age of 69 after bravely battling rheumatoid arthritis for the past few years.
Born in 1952, Karen grew up in Worcester, MA. She graduated from St. Peter's High School in 1970. She worked as a bookkeeper for Zayre's, and then moved to San Diego where she worked for Photomat. In the early 1980s she moved to Tampa, FL for further sunshine, working for Transit Mixed and also Youth and Family Alternatives. She liked cars that had flair, owning a Karmann Ghia, a Javelin (her pony car) and also her red Chevy S-10 truck.
An independent woman, she loved her cats, including her black cats Tyler and Marla.
She was the daughter of the late Raymond F. and Helen M. Collins. She leaves 3 brothers: Kevin of Marlborough MA, Barry of Oxford MA, and Brian of Leeds, England, as well as 2 nieces, a nephew and a grand-nephew.
The family will hold a private memorial service to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Karen's memory to a local animal humane society.
