Karen N. Hawkins, 54
WORCESTER - Karen N. Hawkins, 54, passed away on Saturday, August 6th 2016 after a courageous battle with Cancer.
Karen leaves her seven siblings, Chester Hawkins, Jr. and wife Patricia of Worcester, Jimmy Hawkins and wife Lolita of Annapolis, MD, Bobby Hawkins of Worcester, Ricky Hawkins and wife Cerrita of Worcester, Duane Hawkins of Worcester, Sharon Richardson and husband Sigismund of Auburn and Tina Whaley of Worcester and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including her best friend, Mary Emery.
Karen was born in Worcester a daughter of Chester and Ruby (Jamerson) Hawkins and graduated from Burncoat High School. She worked for 34 years at AdCare Hospital most recently as a dietary supervisor. Karen was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking and spending time with her birds. Most of all, Karen enjoyed time with family and friends and living life to the fullest.
The family would like to thank St. Vincent Cancer and Wellness Center, especially her nurse, Michelle and ICU department for their care and also Rev. Shannon Canoy for his prayers and time he spent with Karen.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 11th from 10:00am until 12:00pm immediately followed by a funeral service at CALLAHAN FAY & CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Memorial donations in Karen's name may be made to the Catholic Restoration Fund c/o St. Vincent Cancer and Wellness Center, 1 Eaton Place, Worcester, MA 01608.
