Karen Marie Pardee

WORCESTER-Karen Marie (Hanley) Pardee, 56, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2021 at UMass Medical Center surrounded by her family.

The beloved daughter of Jane B. (Bevan) Hanley and the late Joseph R. Hanley, she leaves behind her husband of 18 years, Lenny G. Bergstrom and her daughter, Sarah Pardee of Worcester. She also leaves behind Lenny's daughter Jamie Dickinson of Oxford; two brothers, Gary Hanley and his wife, Angie of Shrewsbury and their daughter, Alise Belba, and Greg Hanley and his daughter, Ashley Gaboriault of Worcester; three grandchildren, Maddix Castle, Wyatt Brooks and Emma Brooks; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and many dear friends.

Karen was born with a congenital heart defect and was the celebrated 1976 Heart Fund Girl. A graduate of Burncoat High School in 1982, Karen began working as a teller at the former Worcester County Institute for Savings and later worked as a legal secretary and as a part time clerk at CVS.

Karen was a caregiver to all and enjoyed doing needle point in her free time. She also held community interest as a lifelong resident of Quinsigamond Village and would listen to her scanner to keep tabs on the current goings on.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Karen's life with a graveside service at 11:00am on Saturday, March 27th at St. Joseph's Cemetery on Waite St in Leicester. Arrangements are in the care of the Callahan, Fay, Caswell and Lindquist Life Celebration Homes, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you instead to donate to the American Heart Fund in her memory.
