Katherine Kay" Elizabeth Burns

WORCESTER- Katherine Elizabeth Burns, of Worcester, passed away Sunday, February 24 in St. Vincent Hospital.

She leaves three nieces, Patricia A. Bagby of Pepperell Susan Connolly of Maine, Maryellen Burns of Georgia and a nephew, James Burns of Maine. She also leaves several grand nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers, William and Thomas Burns.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of Michael J. and Mary E. (Butler) Burns and graduated from Commerce High School. Katherine retired from National Biscuit Company after 25 years and has been a longtime volunteer at St. Vincent Hospital. She was a member of St. Bernard's Church and later St. Joan of Arc Church.

Due to the expected snow, the funeral Mass has been rescheduled. It will be held on MONDAY, March 3rd at 10:00 AM in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours will remain Friday, February 29th from 4:00-7:00 PM in Callahan & Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street.
