Katherine (Mantopoulos) Ganias, 83, of Tampa, Florida, and formerly of Worcester, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her three children: Michael Ganias and his wife, Melissa, of Manchester, NH; Olga Ganias of Worcester, MA; and Eleni Ganias, with whom she lived, of Tampa, FL. She also leaves behind her three cherished grandsons, Matthew, Joshua, and Zachary; her beloved great-granddaughter, Octavia “Yia Yia’s princess”; her sister-in-law, Nancy Mantopoulos and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Katherine was predeceased by her brother, Konstantinos Mantopoulos, and her sister, Gramany Gatzogiannis.
Born in Clinton, Massachusetts, Katherine was the daughter of the late Thomas and Anastasia (Cirpa) Mantopoulos. She was a graduate of Commerce High School and later attended Salter Secretarial School. She was the former owner of the Corner Lunch Diner and later dedicated many years working in medical billing with VNA Healthcare in Southborough.
Katherine held her faith close to her heart and was a former member of the St. Spyridon Church Choir. She found joy in dancing with friends, word finds and jigsaw puzzles, sitting by the ocean, taking in the Florida sunsets, baking and cooking for her family. Above all, Katherine loved her family without limits, she exemplified devotion as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was the cornerstone of her life and her greatest source of pride. Her home was always a place of warmth and unconditional love. She was the heart of her family, a source of comfort and strength that cannot be replaced. Her legacy will live on in the love she shared, and the cherished memories held by all who were blessed to know her.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026, in Sts. Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church, 9 Central Street, Marlborough, Massachusetts. Family and friends are kindly requested to meet directly at the Church. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sts. Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church, P.O. Box 381, Marlborough, MA 01752.
