Kathleen A. "Kay"(Dacey) Bernard 79, formerly of Worcester and 667 Washington St., Auburn, died Tuesday, Oct. 28 at Millbury Healthcare Center, from complications of Alzheimer's disease.

Her husband of 45 years, Robert G. Bernard died in 1994. She leaves three daughters, Judith A. Hitchcock of San Antonio, TX, Janet M. Stoddard of Holden, and Christine N. Sullivan of Tucson, AZ; two sons, Philip G. Bernard of Cherry Valley and Richard C. Bernard of North Brookfield; 18 grandchildren, 6 great-granddaughters; a sister in law, Frances Dulmaine of Worcester and 12 nieces and nephews. A brother, Charles F. Dacey Jr. died in 1997. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Charles F. and Genevieve (MacKinnon) Dacey and lived in Worcester for most of her life. She graduated from Commerce High School.

She worked in the assessor's office at the Worcester City Hall for 20 years, retiring in 1992, prior to that she worked for the Worcester Police Department on Waldo St. and for the Paul Revere Insurance Company.She was a founding member of St. Catherine of Sweden Church. She and her husband were avid ballroom dancers and she enjoyed flower gardening and her family.

A Funeral will be held Monday, Nov. 3, from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME 9 Hammond St. with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 1 Wiser St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling Hours are Sunday, Nov. 2 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
