WORCESTER-Kathleen I. (Marc-Aurele, Mahan) Buron, 82, passed away Wednesday, April 1 at Brookdale Eddy Pond, Auburn after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Dementia.
She leaves her husband of 22 years, Deacon Ronald B. Buron; three children, Paul Marc-Aurle, Jr. of Framingham, Donna Adair and her fiancé, Jim Dixon of Okeechobee, FL, and Andrew Marc-Aurle and his wife, Elizabeth O’Connell of Leicester; her cherished grandchildren, Connor Marc-Aurele, Brandon Marc-Aurele, Grace Marc-Aurele, Cassandra Adair, Christopher Adair, and Liliana Glass; great grandchildren, Gio and Gianna; three step children, Michelle Derkosrofian, Mark Buron and Melissa Collins and their families. A son, John Marc-Aurele and three sisters, Rosemary Graham, Barbara Weeks and Joan Sauriol predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of, John F. and Rose V. (Clark) Mahan and graduated from, St. Peter’s High School, Worcester State College and received her master’s degree in education from Worcester State University.
Kathy was a dedicated and respected school teacher for the Diocese of Worcester, where she taught for many years at St. Peter-Marian Junior and Senior High Schools and Worcester Central Catholic Elementary School. Kathy was a member of St. Andrews the Apostle Church and a former member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. She also was a part of the St. Andrew’s knitting group, which she looked forward to going to when she was able to. She loved reading, knitting, and was very proud of her Irish Catholic heritage. However, above all, she enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Kathy and Ron would happily attend all of her grandchildren’s events, from football, field hockey, basketball, baseball, soccer, dancing, and rugby, even if she did not understand the game. She always rooted for her children/grandchildren and would proudly wear their team colors with some kind of homemade knit wear. Kathy had a quiet generosity about her and gave freely of her time, prayers, advice, knitting, sweet treats, and tea to anyone who she cared for. She was a woman of deep Catholic faith and created a lasting legacy of love for all who knew her. She already is deeply missed.
The family would like to thank the staff of the memory care floor of Brookdale Eddy Pond West and the Autumn Hospice Staff for their wonderful care of Kathy.
