Kathleen (Moore) Lapinsky

WORCESTER- Kathleen (Moore) Lapinsky, 72, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2023, at Shrewsbury Nursing Home.


She was born in Worcester on July 13, 1950, daughter of the late Lawrence "Larry" and Priscilla "Pat"Elaine (Giard) Moore. Kathi was raised in Worcester and after graduating from St. Stephen's High School she enrolled at the former New England School of Accounting earning her associate degree.

 

Kathi was employed as a bookkeeper for various local businesses throughout her career. Later in life, she returned to college at Worcester State University. While working full time and raising two children with her husband, Kathi earned her bachelor's degree in business administration, a minor in accounting and graduated with full honors. She also got her teaching certificate from Westfield State College.

 

Kathi was a devout catholic and longtime parishioner of St. Stephen's Church where she and her husband devoted much of their time. Kathi lived life to the fullest everyday. She found joy in many things including knitting, bowling and gardening. Kathi loved to sing to her heart's content and at the end of the day enjoy a nice cup of tea with the companions she had over the course of her life, her shelties. She was honored to be the ultimate mother and the most loving Grammy. Kathi had an enormous heart, she made friends out of complete strangers on a daily basis and would offer a helping hand to anyone in need.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Robert "Bob" Lapinsky, Sr; her two children, Robert "Rob" Lapinsky, Jr., and his wife, Lisa of Worcester, and Julie Lapinsky of Hawaii; a grandson and light of her life Robert "Robbie" Lapinsky Ill; a brother, L. Thomas Moore and his wife, Irene of Connecticut and a sister, Maureen Valentine-Mara of Grafton; sister-in-law Deborah (Rajotte) Moore and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her beloved brother, David Moore.


Family and friends will celebrate her life with visiting hours on Friday, July 14th from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Saturday, July 15th at St. Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton Street, Worcester. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery .
