Kathleen N. Laverty, 48, of 26 Casper St. died Friday, Nov. 10 at home.
She leaves her companion Robert Parker with whom she lived; her mother, Loretta M. (McFadden) Laverty of Worester; three brothers, William P. Laverty and Timothy J. Laverty both of Worcester, John P. and his wife Mary Laverty of Shrewsbury; a sister, Maureen A. Laverty of Worcester; aunts, uncles, nieces; nephews; a great niece; a great nephew and two special friends, Tina and Cheryl. A brother Michael F. Laverty died last year. She was born in Worcester, daughter of William P. Laverty and graduated from Marion High School and attended Quinsigamond Community College.
Kate worked for Verizon for 29 years. She was a member of St. Stephen's Church, the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Fraternal order of Eagles and enjoyed playing pitch, bowling, going to the casino and the beach.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, Nov. 14, from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting Hours are Monday, Nov. 13, from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the UMASS Memorial Foundation, Levine Cancer Center, PO Box 2795, Worcester, 01613 or the charity of your choice.
