Kathleen A. Loftus

Kathleen A. Loftus, 89, died Thursday, June 29, 2023, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
   She leaves her husband of 65 years, William P. Loftus, Jr., three sons; William P. Loftus, III, John D. Loftus and his wife Ursula Loftus Fastl of Worcester, Timothy P. Loftus and his wife Marie of North Grafton, two daughters; Kathleen T. Minucci and her husband Anthony of Ashland and Kristen L. Hibbert and her husband Mark of New Canaan, CT; 15 grandchildren; Caroline, William IV; John-Josef, Noreena, Helena, Daniel; Emily, Timothy; Tara, Lena, Kaila, Maria; Maeve, Liam & Brady.  She was predeceased by four siblings: Mary Foley, John Foley and twins, Mildred Gallery, and Paul Foley. She leaves many nephews and nieces.  
   Kathleen was born in Worcester, daughter of John D. and Nora M. (King) Foley.  She graduated from Commerce High School in 1951 and St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing in 1954. At graduation, Kathleen received the Alumnae Award given to the ideal St. Vincent Hospital nurse.  She was head of the nursery at St. Vincent Hospital for many years and then at Notre Dame Health Care before retiring. She was admired and loved by her patients and co workers. After retirement she volunteered at several area health clinics. She was a member of the St. Vincent Hospital Nursing School Alumni Association and was also member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, St. Brigid Division #36.  Kathleen loved sharing her Irish  heritage with her husband Bill.  One of their greatest joys was listening and dancing to Irish music whenever and wherever they could find it. Kathleen loved her family above all.  She cherished time with her husband, children and grandchildren, particularly at West Dennis, Cape Cod. 
  Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 2 from 3:00-5:00 PM in Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester.  The funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 3 in St. John's Church, 40 Temple Street, Worcester at 11:00 AM.  Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester.  In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. John's food for the poor, 40 Temple Street, Worcester, MA 01604.
