STURBRIDGE-Kathleen E. (Lynch) St. Denis, 53, passed away on October 18, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Worcester, youngest child of seven to the late John F. “Jack” and Shirley (Clark) Lynch. She grew up in Auburn, Massachusetts, and graduated from Auburn High School with the Class of 1991. She later graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 1995.
She leaves her husband of 27 years, Norman P. St.Denis Jr.; three children: David M., Sydney P. and Matthew C.; four brothers: Michael J. Lynch of Worcester, John F. Lynch Jr. and his wife Terese of Auburn, James P. Lynch and his wife Arlette of Worcester and Robert S. Lynch of Auburn; two sisters: Anne M. Clark and her husband Thomas of Auburn and Deborah J. Campbell and her husband Ralph of Oxford; her parents-in-law Norman and Claire St.Denis of Brookfield, and sisters-in-law Kelly St.Denis and Kimberly St.Denis of Agawam;; nieces and nephews, Michael F. Lynch and his wife, Jennifer, Kerri L. Clark, Nicholas S. Lynch and his wife, Katelyn, Thomas J. Clark, Jr. and his wife, Lauren, Joseph J. Clark and his wife, Samantha, Sarah E. Lynch, Andrew J. Campbell and Patrick J. Lynch and his wife, Kylie, and ten great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Kathleen loved her big, lively family. Before starting a family of her own, she looked forward to Sunday dinners and monthly birthday parties. Some of her fondest memories were sleepovers at her aunts Gloria and Denyse’s homes and trips to Hampton Beach. They were like second mothers to her, and she held them close in her heart.
In 1999, Kathleen married Norm, and together they shared 27 years of marriage and built a family filled with love. Their son, David Michael, was born in 2003 with a congenital heart defect and needed surgery at just six weeks old. Kathleen knew then that being a stay-at-home mom and caring for her children would be her calling. David went on to have ten heart surgeries, and Kathleen was at his side for every one.
The two shared an especially close bond. David knew he could always go to his mom when he needed to talk. They made wonderful memories together: many trips to Fenway Park, out-of-state weddings, and a Make-A-Wish trip to California. They dreamed of visiting as many Major League Baseball stadiums as possible, and by the summer of 2026, they had visited four.
Sydney Paige was born in 2007 with cerebral palsy. She lights up every room she enters and kept Kathleen laughing, even through sickness. Matthew Connor was born in 2008 with profound autism. Though nonverbal, Matthew never had trouble showing his love. Kathleen called him her “snuggle buddy,” and he was often curled up beside her on the couch.
The best part of Kathleen’s life was being with Norm and the children. The family loved vacationing together at Disney, Sesame Place, Santa’s Village, and other favorite places. Kathleen enjoyed simple pleasures and enjoyed books, puzzles, and true crime. She decorated the house for every holiday, wrapped every gift with meticulous care, and never forgot to send a card for someone’s birthday or anniversary.
Kathleen’s message to others was simple and heartfelt: “I regret putting off things, like trips or places to see. Don’t do this—life can end fast.” She wanted to thank Norm and her siblings for helping care for her after her diagnosis.
Her final words were: “Lay me next to Glo, I’ll be ok. Please just take care of my babies.”
