Keith J. "Uncle Beef" Simpson, 66, passed away on December 2, 2023, at UMASS Hospital in Worcester after a brief illness. He was born on October 10, 1957, in Worcester to the late Edna (Laporte) Simpson and Kenneth E. Simpson.
Keith grew up in Worcester and graduated from St. Peter's High School. From an early age, he exhibited a strong work ethic and dedication to his craft. He began his career at the E L Farber Leather Factory in the leather room and was most recently working at Hudson Poly Bag in operations. Keith was known as a hardworking and loyal employee who never called in sick. His commitment to his work was unmatched.
Outside of work, Keith was a man of many interests and passions. He was an avid New England sports fan and followed the Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots, and Bruins closely. His knowledge of the teams and players was unparalleled, and he loved engaging in spirited discussions about sports with friends and family. Keith also had a deep appreciation for Ireland and its rich culture, especially the music.
Keith will be remembered for his caring nature and the love he showed to those around him. He had a warmth about him that made everyone feel valued and supported. Whether it was lending a listening ear or offering words of encouragement, Keith had a special way of making others feel seen and understood.
He leaves behind his brother, Kevin Simpson of Worcester. Additionally, Keith is survived by John O'Brien and his wife Kathy of Millbury, Jack O'Brien and his wife Jennifer of Whitinsville, Tucker O'Brien and his wife Rachel of Sutton - close extended family who held a special place in his heart. He was predeceased by his parents and his favorite uncle, John “Jack” Simpson.
Keith, affectionately known as "Uncle Beef" to his loved ones, will forever be remembered for his dedication, kindness, and unwavering loyalty. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Family and friends are welcomed to a celebration of Keith's life on Friday, December 8th with visitation from 9:00AM until 10:00AM at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Funeral Home located at 61 Myrtle St, Worcester, Massachusetts 01608. A funeral service will begin at 10:00AM with burial immediately following in St. John's Cemetery.
