Kenneth G. Long 92, of 6 Danielian Dr. died Monday (March 3) at home after an illness.

His wife of 40 years, Ethel M. (Fray) Long died in 1986. He leaves six nephews, Jeffrey Long of Holden, Bruce Long of Rhode Island, David Long of New York, Ronald Carlson of Pennsylvania, Donald James Lyles of Oklahoma and Richard Patterson of Florida, three nieces, Nancy Belden of Connecticut, Sandra Palmore of Texas and Linda Roundtree of Nevada. Five brothers, Stanley E. Long of Holden, Richard C. Long of Auburn, Rodolphus W. Long, Wendall R. Long and Clyde M. Long all of Worcester and three sisters, Helen M. Patterson of Waltham, Thelma N. Lyles of Oklahoma and Hazel D. Carlson of Worcester, all predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Noah W. and Florence E. (Bosworth) Long. He graduated from North High School and Becker College with a Degree in Business Administration and played on the Varsity Baseball Team.He was an Army Veteran of WWIIin France serving as Sergeant in the Signal Corps.

He was a Manager of Group General Accounts at State Mutual Life Assurance Company of America in Worcester and Pittsburgh for many years, retiring nearly thirty years ago.

He was a member of Greendale People's Church, where he was Treasurer, Trustee and "Kitchen Angel". He was a member of the Morning Star Lodge AF%2BAM, Harold N. Keith American Legion Post %23204 and was an avid golfer with three recorded holes-in-one and was a longtime Marshall at many national golf tournaments at Pleasant Valley Country Club in Sutton.

A funeral will be held Wednesday (March 12) at 11 a.m. at Greendale People's Church 25 Francis St. Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling Hours will be Tuesday (March 11) from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fay Brothers Funeral Home 1 West Boylston St. (www.faybrothers.com).
