Kwasi Ofosu-Addow, 72 years old, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at River Terrace Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, Lancaster, MA.
He is survived by his lovely wife, Lydia and children, Charlotte Nana Yaa Yiadom of Worcester, MA and Charles Addow of Worcester, MA.as well as his dear grandchildren, Justin Solomon and Aaliyah Rose Addow. Kwasi also leaves behind his siblings, five brothers, Yaw Asante Addow, USA, Augustus Kojo Addow, Ghana, Michael Kwasi Addow, Ghana, Augustus Addow, Ghana, and Stephen Yaw Asante Addow, Ghana and seven sisters, Josephine Adofowaa Addow, USA, Victoria Adobea Addow, Ghana, Dorothy Addow-Danquah, Ghana, Stella Abena Addow, Ghana, Ama Adjeiwaa, Holland, Abena Adobea, Ghana, and Grace Addow, USA. He was predeceased by his parents, Augustus Kojo Sono Addow and Esi Afrakomah, his daughter, Erica Addow and brother, Eugene Kwame Addow.
He was born in Abetifi, Ghana and attended the Boys High School in Abetifi, Ghana and graduated in the Class of 1962. Then he went on to further his education at the Technical School in Accra. In 1987, He worked as a Mechanic at Japan Motors till he immigrated to the USA. In 1988, he lived in California for a short time before he moved to Worcester, Massachusetts. He met the love of his life, Lydia in 1989. They got married and were blessed with children whom they raised in Worcester. He worked at Tucker Warehouse in Leominster and also got a job at AstraZeneca in Westborough, MA. In April 2023, due to his failing health, he retired from ABM in Marlboro, Massachusetts.
Kwasi was a Christian and attended the Presbyterian Church in Holden, Massachusetts. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In his free time, he loved watching Soccer and Basketball and also loved listening to old time songs by Ghanaian Artists such as Kakaiku and Ampadu and some Gospel music too.
The funeral rites will be held as follows: On Saturday, December 9th, 2023. Viewing will be at the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester, MA 01608 at 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Burial Service will be held at the Hope Cemetery from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Final Funeral rites will be held at the Crowne Plaza located at 91 Stafford Street, Worcester, MA from 8:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. Then on Sunday, December 10, 2023, the Thanksgiving and Memorial Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church located at 125 Holden Street, Holden, MA. All Sympathizers and Well-wishers are welcome.
