WORCESTER
Leo J. Reynolds, 89, of Worcester was called to be with God on July 11, surrounded by his family members.
His wife and partner of 69 years, Eleanor E. (Gonyea) Reynolds died in 2009. He leaves four daughters, Lynda B. Blanchette of Leicester, Eleanor F. Doherty and her husband John of Charlton, Deborah L. Mero and her husband Bryan of Brimfield and Mary C. Allain and her husband Reggie of Worcester; a brother, Joseph J. Reynolds and his wife Shirley of Clearwater, FL; a son in law, Bradman R. Turner of Millbury; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Two daughters, Carol E. Zuidema and Elizabeth A. Turner, three brothers, Robert, John and George Reynolds and two sisters, Muriel Skarin and Ann Cleary predeceased him. He was born on September 18, 1920 in Worcester, son of John L. and Ann E. (Bombard) Reynolds and graduated from North High School. Leo was an Army Veteran of WWII serving in the European Theatre, 302nd Infantry Regiment, 94th Division and received the combat infantry badge and the bronze star. He was a prisoner of War in Germany.
Leo was a supervisor and manager of the safety division at the former Thompson Steel Company for many years, retiring in 1980. He was a life member of the Main South American Legion Post 341, the Disabled American Veterans Chapter %234 and ,Chaplin of the Central Mass Chapter of Ex POWs. He was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and was active with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Leo was the proud recipient of the St. Vincent de Paul's Society Top Hat Awards.
Leo was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather who will be sadly missed by his family and friends.The family would like to thank Leo's personal healthcare providers, Donna and Loretta for all their loving care.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, July 14, from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Visiting Hours are Tuesday, July 13 from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
