Leslie B. DiCicco 60, of 27 Birch Hill Rd. died Monday, July 28, in UMASS Medical Center, University Campus, after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 31 years, Nancy A. (Nemec) DiCicco; a brother, John M. DiCicco of Reno, NV; several nephews and nieces; and several great nephews and nieces. A sister, Regina R. Brewer of West Boylston died in 2002. He was born in Medford, son of Dominic L. and Regina R. (McGrath) DiCicco. He lived many years in West Boylston, moving to Worcester, 31 years ago. He attended Assupmtion Preparatory School and graduated from Middlebury College and the Suffolk University of Law School and was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1969 and later he was admitted to the, Federal District Court, First Circuit; the U.S. Tax Court; and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court (Mass.District) and the Massachusetts and U.S. Supreme Courts.
He was a Captain and Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division, serving in Vietnam, and he received the Air Combat Medal.
Mr. DiCicco owned his own Private Law Practice, specializing in all aspects of Business Law. He began his law career in 1969, and he was appointed, Director of the State's Corporations Office in 1976, in this capacity he was ex-officio member of the Boston Bar Association Corporate Law Committee and appeared before legislative committees to propose or support mutually acceptable related legislation. He also was a proponent/organizer of the National Association of State Corporate Administrators. Following that he was appointed as Massachusetts Special Assistant Attorney General for regulatory enforcement and for Supreme Judicial Court appearances on behalf of the State. He taught Business Law at Wachusett and Quinsagamond Community Colleges.He also served as Master and Auditor at the Superior Court's appointment and was a substitute teacher for the Worcester and West Boylston Public Schools.
He was member of the Massachusetts Audubon Society, Appalachian Mountain Club, National Wildlife Federation, Mountain Lion Foundation, Massachusetts Archeological Society, the Veterans of Foreign War Post %236907, the Sutton American Legion Post %23414, American Division Association & 82nd Airborne Veterans Association. He enjoyed colonial history; colonial war and civil war museums and sites. He also enjoyed sail boating, fly-fishing, hiking, land and sea navigation and coin collecting.
A Funeral will be held Thursday, July 31, from Fay Brothers Funeral Home 1 West Boylston, West Boylston, (www.faybrothers.com), with a Mass at 2p.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St., West Boylston. Burial will High Plains Cemetery, West Boylston. Calling Hours are Wednesday, July 30, from 5 to 7 p.m.At the funeral home.
