WORCESTER- Lewis James Hazard, 60, passed away suddenly on June 6, 2021, at UMass Medical Center after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Worcester on June 2, 1961, a son of the late Lewis J. Hazard and Ruth (Walley) Hazard. Lewis was raised in the city and graduated from North High School. He was employed as a moving specialist with the Hall Moving Company and Massachusetts Piano Craft. Later, he worked in maintenance at Dunkin Donuts in Auburn.

Lewis was an avid collector and video game enthusiast. He enjoyed freshwater fishing with his children and friends and also enjoyed puzzles, biking and hiking.

He leaves behind the love of his life and companion of 45 years, his wife, Julia (Lusk) Hazard; his children, Nichole Lusk of Worcester, Kimberly Dion and her husband, Alex of Webster, Andrea Lusk of Worcester, Jessica Lusk of Worcester, Caitlin Hazard-Gonzalez and her husband, Rene of Lake Worth, FL., Melinda Raymond and her husband, Jason of Worcester, Jacob Kelley of New Bedford and Lewis James Hazard, III, of Worcester, Dylan Howley of New London, CT. and Jorel Townsend of Auburn; twenty grandchildren, one great grandchild; his siblings, Bruce Hazard of North Brookfield, Robert Bell of Worcester, Betty Ann Bell of Worcester and Joe Walley of Worcester; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Besides his parents, Lewis was predeceased by his sister, Vickey Hazard.

Family and friends will celebrate his life with visiting hours from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Friday, June 11th at the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Saturday, June 12th at St. Peter's Church, 929 Main St., Worcester. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery.
