SHREWSBURY- Lillian (Lindgren) Milley, 92, passed away on January 15, 2021 at UMass Medical Center surrounded by family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard C. Milley who died in 2004.
She was born in Worcester on October 16, 1928 daughter of the late Albert and Louise (Stephens) Lindgren. She was raised in Worcester and graduated from Classical High School and Beverly Hospital School of Nursing. For many years she worked as a nurse at the former Doctor's Hospital and later at Worcester County Hospital until her retirement.
Above all, her family meant the most to her and she cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren especially during the holidays. Many special memories were made each year at East Sandwich Beach, Cape Cod where her entire family would spend the week together. Lillian enjoyed many trips with family and friends to Las Vegas, Niagara Falls, and many more. She will be forever remembered as the family Matriarch of Camp Milley in Sutton.
She leaves behind her children, John R. Milley and his wife, Debbie of Worcester, Gary S. Milley of Cape Cod, Carol Armstrong and her husband, Thomas of Waltham and Nancy L. Milley whom she lived with and cared for her; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Allain and her husband, Jeff, Malinda Laudate, Tony Laudate and his wife, Jennie, Leanne Dufresne and her husband, Rick and Stephen Armstong; fourteen great-grandchildren, Vincent, Victoria, Varissa, Paris, Connor, Brooke, Makayla, Cali, Anthony, Leanna, Layne, Rowan, Aubrey and Remy; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Milley was predeceased by her daughter, Jane Standring; a grandson, Dameon Esposito; her brothers Albert and Richard Lindgren.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, January 20th from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Lindquist-Lundin Life Celebration Home, 36 Butler St., Worcester. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, January 21st at 10:00am. Burial will follow at All Faith's Cemetery. Social distancing and face masks will be required for all funeral services including burial per order of the Governor.
