Lois C. (Sparks) Petty 69, of 2 Cavour Circle died Tuesday (Dec.31) at home after an illness.
She leaves her husband of 50 years, George W. Petty, two sons, William Petty of Kennebunk, ME and John F. Petty of Barre and two daughters, June A. Petty of Worcester and Gayle M. Petty of Portland, ME, four brothers, Richard Drury of Hilton Head, SC, Robert Sparks, Gordon Sparks, and Barry Sparks all of Worcester, a sister, Sandra Heckman of Worcester, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. A daughter, Susan Catapano of Dracut died in February of 2002. She was born in Cambridge, daughter of Victor and Dorothy (Parker) Sparks.
She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, the White Mountains Guild, The Yankee Heritage Tole Society, and the National Society for Decorative Painters.
A Funeral will be held Friday (Jan.3) from Fay Brothers Funeral Home 1 West Boylston St. (www.faybrothers.com) with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 111 Worcester St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling Hours are Thursday (Jan 2.) from 5 to 8p.m. at the funeral home.
