NO. GRAFTON-Lorraine C. "Murph" Murphy, 75, passed peacefully at home on Friday, August 21, 2015 after a long illness. She had her longtime dearest friend Kay Paige, and Ollie and Fred Marshall at her side.


Lorraine was born in Worcester on June 13, 1940, daughter of the late John and Viola (Rocheleau) Murphy. She is survived by two sisters, Barbara and Carol Murphy; four nephews, Robert, Michael, Stephen and John Dunne; and many friends. She was predeceased by a brother William Murphy and sisters, Kathleen Dunne and Patricia Murphy. Lorraine graduated from Grafton High School and Ward Business School in Worcester. She worked as a Legal Secretary in Worcester and Tufts Veterinary School in Grafton.
She served as past president of the LAOH, and was an active volunteer for the Hospice Program, CASA Project, St. John's Food for the Poor and her High School Reunion Committee. Lorraine enjoyed travelling, especially her trips to Bermuda, Dominican Republic, Aruba and Scotland. She loved her Irish heritage and travelled to Ireland on more than one occasion with family and friends.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Lorraine on Tuesday, August 25, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Church, 40 Temple Street, Worcester. As she wished, there are no calling hours and private burial will be held at the convenience of her family in St. Philip's Cemetery in Grafton. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Callahan~Fay~Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lorraine's memory may be made to the St. John's Food for the Poor, 44 Temple Street, Worcester, MA 01604 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
