WEST BOYLSTON: Louis J. Dean, Sr., 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 28, 2025, in his home, after an illness.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa (Parenteau) Dean; his four children, Judith DiFederico, Louis Dean Jr., and his wife, Denise, Anthony Dean and his wife, Suellen, and Lori Dean; six grandchildren, Jason DiFederico, Julianne Richard, Brian DiFederico, Melissa Goodwin, Nicole Pennings and Eric Dean, and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Angeline (Paglione) Dean; two sisters, Bertha Cross, and Eleanor Parmenter; a brother, Robert Dean; and his son-in-law, William DiFederico.
Lou was born in Worcester, son of the late Edwin & Mabel (Beatty) Dean. Lou lived most of his life in Shrewsbury, where he went to school, raised his family, and worked construction. He built his home by himself on the land that had been in his family for generations. Lou was very much a family man, spending Sundays with extended family in Webster and later by the pool he had built for family and friends at his home, and where a delicious spaghetti dinner always followed. Later in his life, he moved to West Boylston, where he enjoyed going to eat at local restaurants and playing cribbage. He was also a member of the Greendale Men’s Club. He was a wonderful father, husband, and we were blessed to have him in our lives and know he is at peace. Lou was also a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Funeral services were held privately.
Fay Brothers Life Celebration Home, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston, is assisting the family with arrangements.
