Louise Arslen

d. September 28, 2016

WORCESTER-Louise (Donoian) Arslen, 84, of Worcester died Wednesday, September 28 in Holy Trinity Nursing Center after five years of wonderful care.

She leaves her loving husband, John Arslen; a sister, Shake Derderian; several nieces and nephews. She will be missed and remembered with love and affection.
She was born in Olean, NY, daughter of James and Victoria (Masgerdian) Donoian and was the youngest of four daughters. She attended Belmont Street School and Commerce High School and worked for the family fruit store on Main Street throughout her school years. Upon graduation Louise managed a family restaurant in Worcester and worked at State Mutual Insurance Company, when they were still on Main Street. Louise worked her way up the ranks to become a chief compliance and contracts analyst and retired in 1996 after 40 years of service. During her career she attended nigh classes at Clark University and Salters School. She loved music, cooking, animals and traveling.

Louise had an open personality, an engaging smile and made friendships that lasted a lifetime. She worked hard in her family business and always took care of her mother, before and after her marriage. She also cared for her mother-in-law and brother-in-law when her oldest sister died. Louise was never afraid of hard work and indulged in it with never a complaint, from lifting crates, making sandwiches, to hanging wallpaper and digging and planting in the garden.

Visiting Hours are Sunday, October 2 from 3 to 5PM at CALLAHAN FAY CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the activities fund at Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 300 Barber Ave., Worcester, 01606.
