Lucille R. (Paquette) Daley 85, formerly of Royal Rd. died Monday (May 26) at the Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, after an illness.

Her husband, Leo F. Daley died in 1978. She leaves two sons, Kevin L. Daley and Brian R. Daley, both of Worcester; three daughters, Kathy J. Joubert of Whitinsville, Beth A. Bachand and Sheila M. Bilotta, both of Worcester: a brother, Russell G. Paquette of Worcester; thirteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A Sister Jeanne M. Paquette of Worcester and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Clarence I. And Ethel C. (Rousseau) Paquette.

She graduated from Worcester State Teacher's College in 1940.

She was a teacher at Leicester Public Schools for many years before retiring; prior to that she taught at Our Lady of the Angels School for several years.

She was a member and Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of the Angels Church.She was a member of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society, Massachusetts Teachers Association, National Education Association, Auburn Historical Society, the Greendale Woman's Club and was an officer in the South Worcester County Retired Teachers Association. She also served on the steering committee for the McKelligett Lecture Series and was active at Worcester State College on the Alumni Committee and the Class of 1940 Reunion Committee. She received the Distinguished Alumni Award in 1996. She enjoyed travelling, volunteering and bird watching.

A Funeral will be held Wednesday (May 28) from Fay Brothers Funeral Home 9 Hammond St. (www.faybrothers.com) with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church 1222 Main St. Burial will be in Saint John's Cemetery. Calling Hours are Tuesday (May 27) from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
