Luz C. Vega, 74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 5 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by loved ones, after a brief illness.
She is survived by her two devoted sons; PJ Morales and Michael MacGrory, her cherished daughters Elizabeth Correa of Worcester and Melissa MacGrory of Putman, CT, loving sister Gloria Vega of Gardener, five adored grandchildren; Tiffany, Sabrina, Jade, Logan and Camden, and three precious great-grandchildren; Elianna, Ariel and Alexis, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Alexis Correa, Sr. and her beloved grandson Alexis Correa, Jr.
Luz graced this world when she was born in Bronx, New York to her parents Bienvenido and Maria (Suarez) Vega. For many years, she dedicated herself as a medical assistant at Family Health Center until just three weeks ago. Her compassionate nature shone through in her love for her work family. A passionate reader with a heart for sports, Luz found joy in cheering for the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. She loved to salsa dance.
Above all else, Luz's world revolved around her cherished family; they were her everything. Her love knew no bounds when it came to those closest to her.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Monday, June 17 from 10:00 AM to Noon at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home located at 61 Myrtle Street in Worcester. A funeral service will follow promptly at noon. Luz will be laid to rest at Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester.
