Worcester-Malkon Robert Shemeligian, 92, passed away Tuesday, August 12 in UMASS Memorial Hospital.

He leaves his wife of 68 years, Melina K. (Kustigian) Shemeligian; a sister, Ann McDermott; many nieces and nephews and the Avakian family in Paris, France. His brother, B. Ralph Shemeligian and his wife, Geraldine, and a brother-in-law, Raymond McDermott as well as nephews Sarkis Surabian, & CPO, Michael J Kustigian who was MIA in Vietnam whom all predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Benjamin and Anna (Wolohojian) Shemeligian. He graduated from North High School, attended Worcester State College and graduated from Ward Computer School. He served in the US Army during the Korean War.

Bob was the owner and manager of several apartment buildings in Worcester, prior to that he worked at State Mutual and Honeywell. He took immense pride in taking care of his properties in Worcester throughout the years. Bob also enjoyed the annual trips to Saratoga and the occasional trips to the casino with his wife. For many years Bob served as a scoutmaster for Troop 65 as well as a longtime member of the Church men's club and the Armenian American Veterans club.

Visiting Hours are Tuesday, August 19, from 10 to 11 at the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, 635 Grove St., immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 11am. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church.
