WEST BOYLSTON: Marcia A. (Borjeson) Roberts, 68, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She faced multiple illnesses over many years with unbounded strength and courage.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Todd M. Roberts; three children, Ian H. Roberts and his wife, Val of Holden, Leia A. Roberts and her husband, Stephen Serewicz of Princeton, and Mathew I. Roberts and his wife, Kathryn of Worcester. Her grandchildren who will miss her deeply, Valentina, Elianna, and Ava. Additionally, her three brothers, Ronald Borjeson and Sheila Good, Richard Borjeson and Carolyn Mesagno, and Alan Borjeson; her in-laws who were like siblings, Gregory, Marcia and Chris Warrington, and Jon. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.
Marcia was born in Worcester, and raised in West Boylston, daughter of the late Ronald I. and Anna M. (Decker) Borjeson. She graduated from West Boylston High School. She went on to be self- employed and took great pride in raising her family. She loved hosting family gatherings and keeping up holiday traditions like preparing Swedish meatballs for every Christmas Eve. One of her greatest joys was her time on the water, boating and sailing with Todd and her children, or exploring the beach, collecting shells and sea glass. Her favorite spot was sitting on the houseboat, watching the sunset in the Ipswich Bay. Marcia instilled her love of the ocean upon her children as well as her grandchildren. As “Mimi,” she spent endless hours crafting and creating projects with her grandchildren - one of the most special memories being their tradition of getting together every holiday season to break apart a gingerbread house and enjoy all the treats.
With her nurturing spirit, caretaking came naturally as a mother, later as a grandmother, and also a loving caretaker for her mother. She valued her lifelong friendships and will be remembered by many for her inviting smile, infectious laugh, kind heart and enduring strength. Marcia approached life with vibrance and determination. She was a warrior through all of her many health struggles, facing them with incredible courage. She was able to persevere with her good nature and sense of humor - finding light in the darkness was one of her many inspiring qualities.
She will be especially missed by her devoted husband, Todd, who provided dedicated love and care during her final years. Their story contained many chapters, beginning in the fifth grade with the simple gift of a peace sign ring, and continuing through years of love, marriage, children, challenges, and enduring devotion. Marcia will remain a symbol of hope and strength to her family and friends, and her legacy of commitment will be carried on by those who loved her.
Calling Hours will be held from 10 until 11:30AM, with a Funeral Service at 11:30AM on Thursday, July 17, 2025, in the Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston.
