Margaret A. (McDermott) McGuigan

WORCESTER-Margaret A. (McDermott) McGuigan, 89, formerly of Worcester and Webster passed away Friday, August 6 in the Genesis Nursing Center, North Kingstown, RI.

Her husband, John McGuigan, MD passed away in 2010. She leaves three sons, Robert E. Cashmon and his wife, Deborah of Wakefield, RI, Stephen V. Cashmon and his wife, Carol Lee of South Daytona Beach, FL, Kevin T. Cashmon and his wife, Blair of Middletown; three grandchildren, Sarah S. Borchart and her husband, Justin, Hannah Cashmon and Meghan E. Cashmon. Margaret also leaves two brothers, James McDermott and his wife, Carol of Worcester and Gerald McDermott and his wife, Judy of North Carolina; two sisters, Mary Sullivan of Worcester and Kathleen Abraham of Worcester, and several nieces and nephews.

Her son John M. Cashmon; four brothers, Ned, John, Raymond and Thomas McDermott; two brothers-in-law, William Abraham and Joseph Sullivan, and her former husband, Robert A. Cashmon predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of Edward and Margaret (Flynn) McDermott. She lived in Worcester, Somerset and Webster for many years, before retiring to Peace Dale, RI. Margaret worked in admissions for many years at St. Vincent Hospital and Hubbard Regional Hospital before retiring, prior to that she worked at the former Miller's Furniture Company and Kings Supermarket. Margaret loved spending time with family and friends, she also enjoyed several trips to Ireland over the years.

Margaret's Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, August 11 at 10am in St. John's Church, 40 Temple St. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. There are no visiting hours.
