WORCESTER-Margaret (Dolan) Abraham, 94, of 3 Malden St. died Oct. 9 at the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester.
Margaret, a former nurse herself, wishes to express her sincere "thank you" to the excellent nursing staff at the Jewish Healthcare Center for the outstanding nursing care that they gave her for the past two years. Her husband of 62 years, Robert L. Abraham died in 2003. She leaves three sons, William R. and his wife Kathleen F. Abraham of Worcester, Brian T. and his wife Jacqueline A. Abraham of Atkinson, NH and James D. Abraham of Warren Robbins, GA; four grandsons and a granddaughter; three great grandsons and several nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester daughter of James H. and Ellen J. (Slattery) Dolan. Margaret's brothers, Thomas M., James H. Jr. and John J. "Joe" Dolan predeceased her. She graduated from Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing and Simmons College and retired as the Assistant Director of Nurses at the former Worcester County Hospital in 1976.
Margaret was a member of the Guild of our Lady of Providence, the Friday Afternoon Club, Council of Catholic Nurses, Guild of Our Lady of the Summit, Retired Club of St. Christopher's Parish, and the Friendly Folks of Our Lady of the Rosary. She was a daily communicant and Eucharistic Minister at St. Christopher's parish of which she was a founding member.
There are no calling hours. A Mass of Celebration in honor of Margaret's life will be held on Thursday, October 12 at 10:00 AM in St. Christopher's Church, 950 W.
