Margaret F. Callinan

Margaret F. (Powers) Callinan, 100, of Shrewsbury passed away Wednesday, December 22 at home.
Her husband of 54 years, James J. Callinan died in 1996. She leaves three sons, Kevin J. Callinan and his wife Lelia of Bolton, James J. Callinan and his wife Roberta of Worcester and John P. Callinan and his wife Lynn of Winthrop,Maine; three daughters, Mary J. Callinan and Margaret J. Callinan both of Upton and Eileen M. Callinan, her care giver with whom she lived and two grandchildren, Kevin J. Callinan, Jr. and Sarah C. Callinan. Two brothers, James J. Powers and John E. Powers and a sister, Mary St. Jean predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of James and Anastasia (Shanahan) Powers and graduated from Commerce High School.
Margaret was a longtime member of St. Peter's Church and it's Woman's Guild. She was a former member of the Worcester City Democratic Committee.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Auburn VNA, especially Lin, Cynthia and Susan for their wonderful care and support.
A Funeral will be held Tuesday, December 28 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester, with a Mass at Noon in St. Peter's Church, 931 Main St., Worcester. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. A Visiting Hour will be held Tuesday, December 28, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at the funeral home.
