Margaret M. Hastings

AUBURN-Margaret M. "Peggy" (Lupien) Hastings, 62, died Wednesday, February 17 at St. Vincent Hospital. She leaves a son, Michael P. Hastings of Somerville; a daughter, Christine A. Murphy and her husband Shawn of Thompson, CT; four grandchildren, Reina B. Hastings and McKayla, Sheriden and Gavin Murphy; and a brother, Joseph O. Lupien of Worcester. She was predeceased by her former husband Thomas M. Hastings in 1989.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Maurice J. and Margaret (Breen) Lupien and graduated from Commerce High School. Peggy worked at Fallon Clinic for over 30 years retiring in 2007. She was a lover of the arts and history, and was a woman of faith who devoted herself to her family and community. She has touched the hearts of many and her light will live on forever.
The funeral will be held on Monday, February 22 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. John's Church, 40 Temple Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Visiting hours are Sunday, February 21 from 5-7 PM in the funeral home.
