WORCESTER- Margaret W. (Graham) Lamprey Peterson, 87, died Sunday, July 2, 2017 at the Christopher House. Margaret's family would like to thank the staff of the Brookside Alzheimer's Unit at the Christopher House and the Jewish Healthcare Hospice for all their compassionate care and support.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late William and Gladys A. (Wells) Graham and graduated from Worcester Girls Trade School. As a young woman, Mrs. Peterson owned and operated a hair salon with her twin sister, Miriam, and was later employed at Zayre's, S&H Green Stamp, American Bank Stationery and alongside her brother at Lyon's Letter Service.
Mrs. Peterson was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed working in her yard, jigsaw puzzles, reading, gardening, sewing and baking cookies with her daughters. When Margaret wasn't busy with those activities, she could be found volunteering at one of her many organizations such as; UMass Memorial Hanhemann Campus, Fairlawn Rehabilitation, Easter Seals, RSVP or Jeremiah's Inn.
Margaret is survived by four children, Betty Ann LLoyd of Auburn, George T. Lamprey, III and his wife Kathleen of N. Grafton, William M. Lamprey of Worcester and Miriam O. Lamprey of Rutland; five grandchildren, Lu-Anne Lamprey of Land-O-Lake, FL, Kerri Lamprey-D'Alleva and her husband Paul of Burlington, Vernon M. Lloyd, III of Ware, Julie Lamprey of N. Grafton and Kristie Dube and her husband Richard A. Dube, II of N. Grafton; and seven great grandchildren, Brianna and Christopher D'Alleva of Burlington, Aliyah, Ameer and Adam Abdul-Aziz of N. Grafton and Nickolas and Nathaniel Dube of N. Grafton. She also leaves a brother, William Graham of FL and a sister, Annie Deamer of Palatine, IL, many nephews and nieces and grand nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Jane Wood, Miriam Graham and Gladys Clark.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 6th from 9-10:30am at LINDQUST-LUNDIN Funeral Home, 36 Butler Street. A funeral service will follow at 11am in the funeral home. Burial will take place at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
