Margaret M. Quinn

Margaret M. "Maggie" Quinn, age 73, of Auburn, MA, passed away quietly in her home on January 10th.

Maggie was born on July 30, 1951, in Worcester, MA, to Joseph T. Quinn Sr. and Helen E. (Olson) Quinn. She was a loving mother, devoted sister, and cherished friend to all who knew her.

Maggie is survived by her daughter, Jillian T. Quinn-Dickinson and her husband Adam Dickinson of Providence, RI, who were her greatest treasures; her eight siblings May-Britt Trainor, Joan Maringo, Paula Pasquale, Robin Collins, Richard Quinn, Robert Quinn, Laura-Lee Laureyns, and Lisa Stomski; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister and godmother Catherine Quinn, brother Joseph Quinn Jr., stepmother May-Britt (Swenson) Quinn, brother Brian Quinn, and sister Janice Lucier.

Maggie retired from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester in 2020 after 29 years of dedicated service. She worked in various roles, from custodian in facilities to mail clerk in the graphic arts department, ultimately retiring as a housekeeper. In 2011, she was honored with the Rev. William J. O’Halloran, S.J. Award, presented to employees who embody the spirit of family within the Holy Cross community. Maggie deeply cherished her time at the college and formed lasting connections with colleagues and students, whom she adored.

A lifelong member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Maggie was a vibrant part of her community, known for her warm and welcoming personality. She cherished the simple joys of life, especially the peaceful moments spent at the beach, soaking in the ocean’s beauty and admiring ships. Maggie’s passion for Neil Diamond was boundless, she never passed up the chance to see him live and never missed any of his televised appearances. She enjoyed yard sales and thrift shopping with friends, always on the hunt for a great deal. A social butterfly, she could strike up a conversation and make a friend wherever she went, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Maggie will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Her spirit of kindness, generosity, and love of life will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Visiting Hours are Thursday, January 16 from 10am-12pm with a Prayer Service at 12pm in Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital at lovetotherescue.org in Maggie’s honor.
