Margaret B. (Salmon) Rafferty 81, of 14 Greenwood Dr. died Sunday, Nov. 7, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center.
Her husband, James E. Rafferty died in 1978. She leaves a close friend, Paul Noack of Auburn; a sister, Rachel Edwards of North Carolina; three nephews, Jack Collins of Shrewsbury, Paul Collins of Worcester and Steven Collins of Fresno, CA; three nieces, Teresa Collette of Worcester, Patricia Sawyer of Chicopee, and Linda Sigman of Vienna, VA and many great nieces and nephews. She was born in Lillington, NC, daughter of Jordan A. and Arrelia A. (Smith) Salmon.
Margaret was the secretary to the president of Sears and Roebuck Company in Worcester and in Auburn for many years, before retiring. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, the Auburn Lodge of Elks %232118 and its Emblem Club, the Senior Center in Auburn and she enjoyed traveling.
A Funeral will be held, Thursday, Nov. 11, from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 9 Hammond St. Worcester with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling period will be held Thursday, Nov. 11, from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Auburn, Visiting Nurses Assoc., 191 Pakachoag St., Auburn, 01501.
