Margaret C. Richardson

WEST BOYLSTON-Margaret C. (Moir) Richardson, 90, died on Saturday, September 20th at the Christopher House in Worcester.

Margaret leaves her two children, Margaret C. Matsaganis and her husband Dimitris of Athens, Greece and William F. Richardson, III of Ludlow and his loving companion, Gail Roberge of Shrewsbury; her beloved grandchildren, Kim Marie, Jessica, Matthew and Christopher; her brother, George Moir of Upton, nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, William F. Richardson, Jr. and her sisters, Kathleen A. Solon and Marion A. Reid.

Margaret was born on February 14, 1924 in Milford, New Hampshire the daughter of George A. and Margaret M. (McClellan) Moir. She moved to the Worcester area as a young child and attended school in both Spencer and Worcester. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. Upon graduation from high school she joined the work force and began her working career in business; first with Heald Machine Co. in the support staff department, later joining Worcester County National Bank in their operations center and finally completed her career at the Hanover Insurance Company - the former State Mutual Life Insurance Company from where she retired.

Margaret was an active member of St. Christopher's Church and belonged to its retirement club. She also was a member of the West Boylston Senior Center. Margaret was an avid gardener and took great pleasure in her roses. Among her many hobbies she enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing, crossword puzzles and traveling. Margaret was devoted to her family and all those extended family members she "adopted" along the way.

Visiting hours for Margaret will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 W. Boylston St., W. Boylston. Her funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 24th at 10:00 am at St. Christopher's Church, 950 West Boylston St., Worcester, Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, W. Boylston.
