Margaret R. (Gaffney) Savageau 92, formerly of 42 Stebbins St. died Sunday, Aug. 1, in the University Commons Nursing Center.
Her husband Wilfred Savageau died in 1963. She leaves her extended family and caregivers, Karen Taft, Julie and Donald Spencer all of Worcester and Francis Taft Jr. of Westboro and four great-grandchildren, Ashley Spencer, Christina Spencer, Anthony Carriveau and Joshua Taft all of Worcester. A brother, John Gaffney and a sister, Clara Armington, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of John and Elizabeth (Crane) Savageau.
Margaret worked at the Y.M.C.A. for 25 years retiring in 1975 and was a member of St. Catherine of Sweden Church.
The Funeral will be held Wednesday, Aug. 4, from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 9 Hammond St. with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 1 Wiser St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. A Calling Hour will be held Wednesday, Aug. 4, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
