Margaret V. (Hemenway) Snow, 83, of Worcester died Sat., May 3 in UMASS Medical Center, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Her husband of 31 years, John A. Snow died in 1985. She leaves four children, David and his wife Barbara Hemenway of Lowell, Karen and her husband Horace Ames of Oakham, William Snow of Brockton and John and his wife Tracey Snow of Worcester; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Duncan and Marion Morgan; and nieces and nephews. Several brothers and sisters predeceased her. She was born in Framingham, daughter of Carleton and Sadie (Wells) Hemenway. After graduating high school, she worked for Dennison Manufacturing in Framingham and then served in the Navy during WWII.
Margaret was a private personal assistant for many years, retiring at the age of 78. She was a chaplain of the Salvation Army, Worcester Citadel Corps. and was active in all the everyday aspects of the Citadel.
At her request the funeral service is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to, the Salvation Army, 630 Main St., Worcester, 01608. Callahan & Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. is handling arrangements.
