WORCESTER-Marie M. Grummell, 88, of Worcester, passed away Friday, June 15, 2018 in her home.
She leaves a brother, John Grummell of Worcester; a niece; a nephew and many cousins here and in Ireland. She was born in Worcester, daughter of John and Mary (McMahon) Grummell and graduated from Ascension High School.
Marie was an operator for AT&T retiring in 1990, prior to that she worked at the Broadway Restaurant and the former Slater's Spa. In her retirement she worked part-time as a receptionist at the Saint Francis Home. She was a member of Saint John's Church, Telephone Pioneers of America and the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. Marie loved crossword puzzles and watching NCIS daily.
The Funeral will be held Friday, June 22, from Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10AM in St. John's Church, 44 Temple St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting Hours are Thursday, June 21 from 4 to 7PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142 or by visiting www.stjude.org
