Marilyn I. (Simonetti) Chambers

WEST BOYLSTON-Marilyn I. (Simonetti) Chambers, 79, passed away on April 7, 2022, surrounded by love. Marilyn burst into life in Douglaston, NY, daughter of the late Frank and Lillian (Grad) Simonetti. She was predeceased by her love of 55 years, Paul F. Chambers, the mint jelly to her lamb. They graduated Boston University, raised a family, traveled the globe, hosted great parties, and strolled beaches from Maine to Mexico. Paul ensured 'Hon' always had a cup of tea, Diet Pepsi, or J&B on the rocks.

Marilyn is survived by her loving brother, Gene Simonetti, and her cool nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by crazy siblings Sarina Foley and Frank Simonetti.

As Mom to Lysa (Chambers) Dahlin and Paul A. Chambers, she lived out loud. With Paul she skied 3 countries, enjoyed hundreds of movies, won at backgammon, and washed piles of smelly hockey gear. Try as she might, she could never remember the simple passwords he created for her. Mom's Mazda RX7 and Porsche 944 inspired his love of manual transmission cars.

Often mistaken for Lysa's sister, they gallivanted through shoe stores, boutiques, and dim sum carts, stopping only to chat up strangers, rock out with Lady Gaga, shoot craps, or lounge by the pool. Mom instilled a strong voice, and a love of Middle Eastern food, 90-Day Fiancé, funky clothing, and a well-placed curse word. She shared her passion for service, as a fierce child advocate & guardian ad litem at CASA and volunteer at W.B. Food Pantry, St. Anne's Store, and the American Red Cross.

Mimi would do anything for her semi-perfect grandkids, Justin Chambers, Dakota (Dahlin) Nececkas, Brittany (Chambers) Mahoney, Hannah Dahlin, Lindsey Chambers, and their partners, including sharing the joy of THREE weddings in 2021. She loved giving 'input' in all decisions from curtains to cars to wedding appetizers. Her chocolate éclair dessert was legendary. She could barely wait to start their happy hours and dish on that week's episode of The Bachelor. Mimi Bingo was a favorite game where they waited for her to say 'zap it' or yell 'PAAAAAAUL' to find Pop Pop. She loved eating out and was a frequent flyer at places where they marveled at how the staff knew her name and her drink order. The kids had a playful, gutsy grandmother who danced them to adulthood. What a gift.

Marilyn loved her amazing friends with purpose, and they adored their stunning, smart, funny pal who never missed a good escapade. These chicks created adventures from Acapulco to Milan, with exploits full of hot tubs, Kentucky Derby parties, bridge tournaments, shopping, concerts, casinos, boogie boarding, and many deep talks. Their shared antics are simply too scandalous to detail.

Marilyn's spirit is imprinted on the hearts of all who knew her or loved a good Mai Tai. She has truly left her handprint on the world. In lieu of services the family plans a future celebration of life.
