June 26, 1952 — December 5, 2019

West Boylston - Marilyn Jean (Bond) Lynch, 67, of West Boylston died December 5th at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester after a lengthy battle with cancer. "Mal" was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Stanley E. and late Norma L. (Leinweber) Bond. She spent her youth in Auburn and resided in the town of West Boylston for more than 40 years.

After attending Auburn public schools, Marilyn went on to earn a Master's Degree in Education at Worcester State College. She most recently worked as a teacher for the Head Start program in Webster. Previously, she taught at the Lilliput Early Childhood Center in Shrewsbury for over 20 years.
Mal enjoyed her summer vacations in Truro, MA, and spent many a sunny day at Hampton Beach in her free time. When it came to family gatherings, her baking prowess always stole the show. Mal was also an enthusiastic Red Sox fan, watching every game, wearing the gear, and filling her home with countless expressions of her devoted fan hood. She was even able to attend two games at Fenway Park this year.

Marilyn is survived by her son, Michael J. Lynch and his partner, Hannah Lavin of Worcester, and three brothers: Steven J. Bond of Standish, Maine Gerald S. Bond and his wife, Ellen of Auburn and Neil J. Bond and his partner, Janice Lagacé of Worcester.

Marilyn's family would like to thank all her closest friends for keeping her spirits up and supporting her as she confronted the many challenges that came her way. The family also extends their gratitude to the Head Start staff for their remarkable accommodation to Mal, where she continued to work until two weeks prior to her passing.

Relatives and friends are invited to honor and remember Mal at her visiting hours on Tuesday, December 10th from 5-7 p.m. at the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester, to be followed by a brief prayer service at 7 p.m. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn will be held at a later date.
